What is your cancellation policy?
A 25% deposit is charged upfront. Final payment is charged to the card on-file 14 days prior to the scheduled tour date. Cancellations or modifications are subject to the following policy:
1. Cancellation 31 days before the scheduled tour date: Full refund of the 25% deposit, minus any non-refundable tickets, if applicable.
2. Cancellations made 15-30 days before the scheduled tour date: The 25% deposit is non-refundable, plus the cost of any non-refundable tickets, if applicable.
3. Cancellations made between 0-14 days before the scheduled tour date: The remaining 75% balance will be charged to the card on-file 14 days before the scheduled tour date.
4. Refunds are not available for no-shows, delays, services already utilized, or once the tour time has begun.
what happens if it rains?
We closely monitor the weather. Should there be strong predictions of rain, we will offer a free rescheduling of your tour to another date (if possible). Or, we will refund your tour in-full if rescheduling is not possible.
how long will i be in the car for?
Each itinerary includes more time off the car than inside of the car. While the vintage Fiat 500's are charming, the purpose of the tours are to immerse you into the culture and beauty of Lake Como. So, the cars are simply the means of transport. But yes, you can take plenty of photos with them!
do you offer private transportation around lake como?
We do not offer taxi services from one destination to another. We strictly offer guided tours of Lake Como and aren't available for hire as a taxi or private transfer service. Sorry!
CAN YOU CHANGE MY tour TIME?
To keep everything running smoothly, our tours operate at set times. Each experience is thoughtfully planned around drive times, activity schedules, and the operating hours of the local businesses we visit. We also make sure our drivers have enough time between tours to provide the best experience possible.
If you need to change your tour date, we’ll do our best to accommodate your changes based on availability. Please note that villa tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
what is your ticket policy?
For tours that require pre-purchased tickets, La Dolce Guida requires that all tickets be purchased through us directly and will automatically be included in your tour cost. We are unable to utilize privately procured tickets, membership tickets, or other ticket passes.
Tickets are always non-refundable in the event of a client cancellation and cannot be transferred to another date and/or time in the event of a requested tour reschedule. Client will be responsible for payment of new tickets if the tour date change is a personal request.
Do your prices include gratuities/tips?
Tipping is always appreciated, though it is not obligatory. Clients generally tip based on the duration of the tour and quality of the overall experience.
Can I add additional participants to my touR?
We’re happy to work with you if you’d like to add more participants to your tour — just be sure to let us know in advance! Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee last-minute availability, but will do our best to accomodate.
Please do not bring additional guests who aren’t already accounted for, as this can affect the number of vehicles needed. If you’d like to make any changes or additions to your tour, please reach out to us via email. We’re here to help!
How can I contact my driver in advance of my tour?
We do not share our driver’s personal contact information until the day prior to your tour. We will provide you with their phone number in case of any issues on the day of your tour. Please be sure you have WhatsApp downloaded for text messaging.
Their contact information is intended for last-minute, urgent issues that may arise. They are unable to adjust your tour dates/time slot. If needed, you can always give our office a call or get in touch with us via email should you have any questions prior to your tour.
can i rent your vehicle and drive it myself?
We’re proud to offer unique guided tours of Lake Como. You can enjoy a drink (or two!) and take in the beautiful scenery, while we handle the driving.
Please note that our vehicles aren’t available for self-driving — they’re part of the full tour experience we provide.
Are there any tour limitations?
Due to the compact size of our vehicles, the total combined weight limit for all passengers is 500 pounds or 225 kilograms per vehicle.
To ensure safety, children must be at least 6 years old or 4'9" tall to ride in the vehicle. A booster seat will be provided. Please note that car seats cannot be attached to the seats.
